i was once involved in a situation where everyone was on board until it actually happened. the aggressor character's player, who had pitched the plot initially, backpedaled and objected to any character criticizing them, all because the character he attacked reacted negatively... when the victim having to fight him off was part of the premise they pitched.
it was stupid. half the people involved dropped, all because this one player pitched a plot they weren't willing to follow through on.
