espionage shit - bond, le carre, kingsman, etc crosscanon

for whatever reason i've picked up cambridge spies' very generous fictionalization of kim philby again after a several years' long hiatus and am looking to toss him against other spy and intelligence types, either in his own timeline (1930s-early 50s) or theirs. for those not familiar, kim's a devout communist born into the english upper class who gets recruited for the soviet intelligence services by friends during his time at cambridge's trinity college; in the pre-war years he spies on franco's regime for the soviets and later ends up as a double agent enmeshed in MI6, ultimately becoming their head of soviet counterintelligence.

i'm mostly into the interpersonal drama angle with threads and less into pure action, but am not opposed to playing out high-risk actiony scenarios concurrent with character development. i'm particularly interested in writing out friendships? relationships? with others in british intelligence who believe him to be on their side/him struggling with genuine bonds with the 'enemy' or getting closer than he perhaps intended to, situations in which both characters are moles, blown cover, and everything involved in the messier human side of intelligence work. i'd also love to play kim in a modern college au for the sheer comedic potential of it all.

and ofc castmates would be loved, especially a guy for either ship or gen stuff!

if this sounds like your thing shoot me a pm! bring me your spies please
