It's also a healthy sleep hygiene habit to have a period of time set aside for "wakeful resting" (aka not actively reading or watching something) and just giving your body/mind time to relax .

It's kind of an emotional heat sink for an active imagination (directing thoughts into something pleasant instead of keeping yourself up worrying about stuff) and a signal to your body that it's time to sleep.

Surprise, some of our quirks are actually really good for us!
