- no powers, as there's no point to a survival story when characters can magic buildings and fortifications and food supply into existence - a player base that sticks to theme. "SOL" makes me cagey. it's one thing if everyone is committed to telling survival stories, but I just don't want to be writing a character committed to survival and resource management while other characters are throwing regular-world birthday parties. - internal logic. I'd rather be in a game that is a committed zombie game than a game that is a zombie game this month and an evil magic plants game the next and a vampire game after that and then an alien invasion game, etc. This also makes it easier to write an ongoing plot to keep things juicy.
