the only time this would be an issue is if you tagged someone with your alt that didn't want you to tag them and you were using it to get around their saying no to you. outside of that, it's really not that odd and just because it's fallen out of practice doesn't mean that it's weird to do. most of us are just more comfortable with our smut, but i also don't see a lot of really kinky/borderline triggery stuff in games, so... could be a reason.
