This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. I was meh about Bastion, really couldn't get through Maldraxxus fast enough because it's so goddamn ugly, love Ardenweald and Revendreth.

my server seems to have a boner for maldraxxus. general's full of bitching and moaning about how ardenweald is 'gay furry land' and how they want to go back to mal right now.

mal's too edgelordy for me. full of undead who just spend all of eternity at war with each other? also you're right; it's just plain ugly.

Can't stand Maldraxxus. I got sick of BLOOD AND THUNDER, WAR AND GLORY AARRGGHH 15 years ago. Along with the Plagueland look. Bastion and Ardenweald are alright though; for fun, bring an inky night potion to Bastion, turns it gorgeous.

58 and still in Ardenweald, so I don't yet have an opinion on Revendreth.

so what covenants are people thinking of/have chosen?

for my practically-a-night-elf-anyway nightborne hunter, i went night fae.
went venthyr for both my horde and alliance warlocks. most likely at least one of my dks too.
my lightforged is going bastion, since it just seems appropriate.

The only character I have at cap is my night elf druid who stuck to stereotype and went Ardenweald. Loving it so far. If I get the time to get others up then...
My blood elf demon hunter is going Maldraxxus because he's a hot headed fighty boy and my blood elf paladin is going Revendreth purely because the little intro blurb given when deciding who to go with mentioned gathering support via extravagant parties.
Not sure who/what would go Bastion but I would like to get someone through it just for the sake of the story. And the little owl stewards are adorable. Probably my worgen rogue just for the fact that worgen can 'mount' in the Maw and it would be less of a drag to quest through.

my undead hunter's venthyr, because come on. gravestones and candles on the armor? this is entirely my shitty aesthetic. revendreth on the whole is entirely my shitty aesthetic.
my nightborne warlock is also venthyr. prideful and arrogant's her MO. also the extravagant parties? yeah, she fits right in.

right now no one else is at 60, but i'm probably going to send a couple to night fae or necrolord.

My nightborne warlock would end up in Revendreth after death anyway, so Venthyr for her. Necrolord for my worgen DK. Most likely Night Fae for my nelf and Zandalari hunters. No one else is nearing 60 right now.

i'm getting a headache looking at guides, because usually the covenants i want for a specific character aren't good for their class or spec, and the ones i'm not interested in are.

Ardenweald's my favorite, even if I have to mute General the whole time I'm there. Invariably some edgelord's going on about how they want to burn it all down and how much better Mal is.

Unsurprisingly, seems like most of them are DKs.

I just wish we could skip the introductory questline, like we could in Legion and BfA. After the third time running it I almost don't want to bring my other three level 50's into Shadowlands.

Still makes no goddamn sense that *Kyrian* is the best covenant for warlocks. I mean, I could see a DK joining them seeking redemption of some kind, but warlocks? No. You chose the path to hell; it isn't like someone forced you to take up fel magic and summon demons.

I'm actually kind of surprised that it took until today for me to get chewed out by someone for not choosing the 'best' covenant and picking Venthyr instead. Thought it would have happened a lot sooner.

having a good time! really enjoyed the story in maldraxxus even though it's not exactly pretty, currently early on in ardenweald and I am in love with it. it's been really fun to journey through each of the zones and explore with my bestie. :)

Went into Maldraxxus expecting to hate it, but it turns out it's a death metal album cover for a zone. Loved it. All the zones have been absolutely wonderful, but Ardenweald and Revendreth were my absolute favorites. I'm still deciding on my covenant!

I went a Night Fae, and do yourself a favor: pick Night Fae on at least one character if for no other reason than the play they put on about the story of the last two expacs, starring YOU. It's got bad acting, costume changes, meta humor, questionable accents, and it's FANTASTIC.

i'm a little disappointed that other rares drop covenant-restricted mounts though. i just got the hopecrusher gargon, and it's venthyr-only. my two venthyr characters can ride it, but it's unusable for anyone else.

anyone take the 'threads of fate' option when leveling alts? how is it?

i'm wondering if it's worth it rather than slogging through the story again.

I did it on one alt, and I don't really recommend it. Just go through the main story again.

I'm assuming the fact that you can join a Covenant is the reason the decision is final, but all you really get is the zone and class skills. You can't start the campaign until you're level 60. It's really kind of aimless and boring.

Unless you want to level primarily by doing dungeons, don't do Threads of Fate.

I'm having a great time so far. I enjoyed Bastion, was kinda meh on Maldraxxus, loved Ardenweald and am currently in Revendreth which I am ALSO loving. Sire Denathrius...

I love Revendreth too. Denathrius and Renathal definitely have a Dracula and Alucard thing going on.

I know they never will, but if they made any of the Shadowlands denizens allied races, I'd have way too many Venthyr alts.
