Just something that popped into my head just now and figured I'd put out there: a Myst-based/inspired game.

Basically, something to do with the lost D'ni culture, in particular their art of Book writing. Maybe characters come across an old Linking book that takes them to D'ni, but when they get there, find that they're stuck because all the other Books were destroyed and they have no way to return home. Characters would have to learn to write Books so they can get back to their worlds, but as there's no natives around and the only instructions are in a language they cannot read, failed attempts end up in leading to uninhabitable Ages, some that may resemble their homes in some degree.

The failed attempts could be game events and give players ways to incorporate aspects of their canons into the world. Some characters might pursue other tasks besides getting home, to make their stay in D'ni livable. And there could be an option too for characters to work together and write a Book to an Age of their own choosing, depending on what relationships they forge and which ones they might wish to maintain.

Note: So I've actually only played the original Myst game and read the Book of Ti'ana - I just got my hands recently on the Book of Atrus and the Book of D'ni which I'm working on - but I figure the game wouldn't have to fit the continuity of all the games precisely, but mostly use to draw inspiration from.

Anyway, haven't really fleshed this idea out yet, so any comments, ideas, or opinions would be great to hear!

+1 to the thor trying to talk shit out thing: just did a thor marathon the other day and even in the prison break scene in thor 2, he does give the prisoners a "hey i won't get you hammered" option before joining the fray. he also tries to reason with the hulk in avengers before fighting him too.

All of this is right on, especially about playing a character that really grabs you and you find interesting, because that enthusiasm and investment (with the normal caveat of avoiding getting ridiculously invested, here) leads to great rp all around.

I'll also second that, even when playing a very obscure character from a very obscure canon, I've ended up with canonmates solely because people I played off of were interested in my character and, by extension, their canon. I actually can't remember playing a character in a game that didn't end up with at least one castmate eventually.

victory_road is a good place for antagonists, people are pretty open to letting villains have both positive and negative cr without immediate "bad feelings about them", and there's an established villain faction for resources for plots.

I've been thinking Myst would make a great rp basis for ages but couldn't quite figure out how, but I think you've nailed it on the characters needing to learn book writing. This sounds great and I'd love to see you flesh it out more and make it a game!

Definitely consider finding new cr willing to tag faster. Heck, announcing it on plurk might help you find others with a similar tagging suited.

How are they even making ac with a tag rate like that? Sounds like you need to be in a game with higher ac.

as someone that's had cr like this before, it's likely that op isn't their primary cr. people like this tend to have one or two people they actually give a fuck or want to play with, but they 'tag around' to avoid being called out for not actually playing in the game properly or being cliquey. those people get shit tags and fake fawning about how they really want to keep playing with them and blah blah blah.

always check the ac posts from people like this. if there's only one or two characters they post ac threads with, it's a tell.

Agreed. I wouldn't bother with players like that in a game because it's obvious neither one is getting anything out of it. Threads that slow don't help in getting through AC or gaining meaningful CR.

If that's true then OP's shiny new permissions post isn't going to weed them out either. They'll see the tag rate part, say "that doesn't apply to me", because they CAN tag faster, but then they won't.

Looking for a prostitution scene with an expensive high-class escort and a female client.

Two prompts I was thinking of:

A) The client is an older woman, maybe a recent divorcee, who's slightly lonely and looking for something to spice up her life, but is fairly experienced.

B) The client is a younger girl, mid-20s, who's queer yet closeted and painfully shy about it. She's probably more wealthy than she'd expect (maybe worked for a startup that took off) and so decides to solve her problem by paying for company. She's never been with another woman, or in fact anyone.

I can play either of these clients or the prostitute. I'm thinking that it's very much a "Girlfriend Experience" type deal, where the escort goes out with them, they have a nice dinner, and then go to a hotel and fuck, but there's as much emphasis on the emotional companionship as on the sex.

No medium preferences, but I'll probably use an OC with LA icons. Drop me a sock + who you want to play!

Did you already delete the gmail filters? I forgot some usernames, couldn't look them up on DW itself bc I'd used the email+username trick, and didn't have any old comment notifs to search for, but realized I'd only deleted the labels and never deleted the filters from the gmail filter page. So I was able to just look up all the "to" fields I'd set things to.

In the future, an exploration spaceship (primarily staffed by men) has a role for "comfort duty," essentially a ship's whore who the male staff can use to relieve their sexual desires. It's accepted and public, of the "hey I need a quickie, turn around and bend over the console" variety. Most of the comfort duty crew are women, but maybe one or two very beautiful, feminine boys?

The Promised Neverland. This is a relatively new manga that's been gaining a lot of attention recently, and for VERY good reason. The premise itself deserves to be unspoiled for the sheer surprise of it, but it involves a group of friends at an orphanage discovering a terrible secret, and it is a suspenseful rollercoaster right from the very first chapter. It's got great art, good writing, and really knows how to drive in the tension and mystery to the point where every chapter throws something new at you and makes you unable to stop reading.
