Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Political topics are still banned. Report threads and I'll delete them (eventually).

You earned yourself a debt. There are a lot of ways to do it. Maybe you played a game of chance without paying, and then lost. Maybe you watched part of a show through the curtains of the Big Top without a ticket. Or maybe you’re one of the rare few to seek out the Ringmaster by choice, to see what this strange new world has to offer. Either way, you end up with a job with which to pay the carnival back, and a contract.

For a year and a day, you’ll travel with the carnival, given work to match your skills. You’ll see the multiverse and help to bring wonder to its various inhabitants. You’ll meet new people, discover new passions, and change in ways both physical and emotional. And after that... the Ringmaster vows to return you to the precise place and moment you left. If, of course, that is what you still want.

Sounds like a good deal, right? Either way, it doesn’t really matter what you think of it at the moment. The Ringmaster has decided to give you this opportunity, and you had better make the best of it.

As you’ll soon learn, sometimes what goes on backstage is more complicated than it seems, and a carnival that can travel through worlds can also earn itself some powerful enemies.
Lost Carnival is a panfandom game centered around the activities of a mysterious carnival, capable of travelling between dimensions, and bringing a motley crew of indentured employees with it. Major themes include the mental and physical transformations that come with being exposed to the carnival’s faerie magic, as well as the dangers that come from meddling with other worlds.

The game is likely to run for a couple years, and is intended to have a flexible and free form meta plot that encourages contributions from players, and will balance carnival slice of life with more involved and dramatic plot arcs.

Visions press into your dreams and waking world like splinters at first. Foreign words linger in whispers, beginning as unintelligible murmurs that no one else seems to hear. Faces that were intimate yesterday begin to seem distant, alien—or perhaps the reverse is true and you come to know these faces better than ever before, as if you’ve lived another life with them.

It’s not sudden, and it’s far from painless, but through the headaches and confusion, you begin to get the sense that you don’t belong here. That the soils of Leith never bore your first steps or that the walls of Westerley weren’t your first cage—and for some of you, it's true.

Your life, your memories, your very history — all of it has been taken from you and replaced with a pantomime. Some people will never find themselves again, living under a veil of neural illusion until they’ve exceeded their usefulness. Others are like empty shells, their minds scraped clean and left bare for later repurposing—but perhaps they’re truly the luckiest, for theirs is a simpler journey in a world trembling on the brink of war.

Those who must reconcile who they are with who they were must do so in a time of political collapse and upheaval, of revolution and bloodshed. Their minds will crumble in tandem with the world around them and often—too often—they will have to make a choice between collecting the pieces of yesterday or living to see tomorrow.

Overjoyed is a quasi-AU panfandom dystopian cyberpunk game based in the Killjoys universe. The game runs concurrent with season one, complete with an overarching plot full of politics, revolution, and all the murky areas in between. AU memory loss can be either temporary or permanent at player's discretion.

ELUVIO. Whatever you were doing seconds ago is gone. You're done. You're transported some place else in the blink of an eye. Around you medical equipment beeps, crew members rush to the various decompression chambers in the room. You're not alone, just one of many. Try as you might to get your questions answered, no one seems willing and can you just stand still because we need to scan your vitals. But don't worry, your questions will be answered soon enough...

Welcome to the ISC ELUVIO. Suit up, travelers. It's not going to be an easy ride.

Eluvio is a panfandom science-fiction game centered on a group of starships moving through a galaxy. The mission, as far as characters understand it, is to locate a planet suitable for colonization. There are occasionally rumors that these starships may also be fleeing something, though evidence supporting this has not yet been found. The game is primarily character-driven, with heavy emphasis on exploration, adventure, and discovery. Due to the nature of the game, there will at times be some horror and survival elements.

Lagunbiru is a pan-fandom smut game set on a luxurious space station, where kink - and especially a pastime known as kink bingo - is one of the few remaining novelties for the very rich and very bored. Everything from vanilla to extreme kink is welcomed and catered for in this game. Kinkshaming is not tolerated under any circumstances.

Orbiting the incredibly luxurious resort planet Haen, Lagunbiru is notorious for its mystery, its elitism, and the rumors of strange and wonderful pleasures to be found for those lucky enough to experience them. Very few people know exactly what goes on in this curious station. Now you've become one of them.

The secret is this: when you arrive, you are issued an ID card, stamped with your identity and a table of kinks that you might have to ask a friend to explain. 'Kink bingo' is all the rage on Lagunbiru, one of the few remaining ways to find some novelty in a life that's quickly running out of new and exciting things to do.

Each cell on the table counts as a challenge, with the reward of further luxury to be obtained. Swipe your card for a basic stipend - Lagunbiru takes care of all of its residents - but dabble in the kinks you've been randomly assigned and you will be rewarded with a better quality of life... and for those who can complete the entire table, the reward of the luxury planet below is offered - or an express-ticket home. There is no other way to leave the station, unfortunately, so kick back and see the sights, immerse yourself in the sensations, and remember: there's no harm in helping each other out when there's nothing to lose and everybody wins.

can i ask why aged-up characters aren't allowed?
lagunbirumods: (Default)

[personal profile] lagunbirumods 2016-12-12 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
After some consideration, that's going to be revised! My main concern was not having characters who were technically old enough to be allowed in-game still being played like their canon (too young) selves. Another concern was how much headcanon might be required to age up a character. However, it seems as though a limit on how much a character can be aged up would cover both of those concerns.

Thank you for asking this question, and I hope the reasoning and revision make sense to you.

Definitely! I'll put it on the to-do list.

You don't need to tl;dr, there's no minimum word count or anything. The place to concentrate your energy would be the personality section and the samples - that's where you show off that you know them and know how to play them!

ONCE you were living your life - good, bad, perfectly average - and the next your reality was invaded by an alien force on the hunt-- for you. Luckily, a stranger offered a way out. You accepted.

NOW there is a light above you. It casts the numerous chambers of the nesting deck in a soft broken light - including yours. There's a tube connected from the chamber to the base of your skull, but that's not what the splitting headache's from. Push past the veneer of pain. Behind it is knowing - that you're not where you once were, that there are others just like you in the neighboring chambers, and that you are not alone..

Welcome to Station 72. You’ve joined the ranks of the Nest. Nominally a peace-keeping force, the Nest is required to be strong and fit enough to counter balance forces of destruction in the multi-verse. All alien members of the Nest (that's you) are implanted with a symbiotic organism. The symbiote connects with the mind and body of its host, enabling the host body to gain superhuman abilities with which to further their cause. Over time these abilities can be strengthened by solidifying the connection between host and symbiote - but be warned: knowledge and power comes at a cost.

The closer a host is to the hivemind of the Nest, the less of an individual they become.

STATION 72 is a pan-fandom space opera RPG questioning the nature of individuality and its role in the pursuit of a greater multi-dimensional good. It focuses on team building, close interpersonal relationships, and developing shared skills. Strong themes include shared experiences, the meaning of individuality and identity, psychological transformation, and some existential horror.

That's really cute, 3B mod! I really like the idea of having a monthly meme linked to bakerstreet. I miss the days of having bakerstreet be used for cross-canon or AU memes cross-pollinated to a central hub... to be honest I kind of wish more communities would use that idea to expand upon existing test drive meme styles. I hope this works!

15 STRANGERS: a short-term murdergame experiment

[personal profile] strangerpeople 2016-12-21 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)

This is not what you expected. Waking up in an unknown place with unknown people alongside you, with changes done to you without your knowing. You are told only the bare minimum when you do come to your senses, and its not good.

You are trapped here forever. The only way you can escape with your life is to kill another and get away with it. Will you do it? Or will you be the victim of another? Who knows? All you know is that for some reason, there's someone who really wants those deaths to happen. Your deaths.

There are 15 strangers in this place. Someone knows why. And its clear the odds are stacked against you.

Let the game begin.
