where do you suppose everyone went if the playerbase has shrunk? tumblr, f-list, forums?

I probably shouldn't ask about this but are you implying there are no skeletons in closets/those skeletons are laid bare? (I've been in a fair bit of rp communities and drama has always kept itself behind closed doors which has actually caused a lot of problems)
