Have a rare day to myself tomorrow, so I'm thinking about seeing this. I haven't seen the original and saw 7 Samurai years years ago for a class but hardly remember it, so I'll be coming at it fairly fresh. If anything, I hope at least it's entertaining, but the one review I caught a glimpse of was unfavorable and not that many people in my social circles seemed to have watched it, so I don't know what to expect.

Either way, I'll be in the know of at least one newish canon which isn't something I can say really these days.
