Linda Gehringer as Pennilyn Lott in Gilmore Girls? (Probably obscure enough that you won't have to worry about anyone recognizing the character, too.)
Actually, a lot of the people playing friends of Lorelai's parents in Gilmore Girls nail the "kind of snooty 50+ WASP" description.
