Yeesh. You're looking rough. All Night of the Living Dead. Minus, y'know, the living part.

Am I being too subtle? Are you catching my drift yet? You're dead! Dead, wasted, obliterated. But you know what? Everybody dies. What comes after, now that's the fun part.

Where are we going? I'll tell you, but you've gotta promise not to freak out. People always freak out. You know that whole final judgment deal? The trial in the sky that decides if you've been naughty or nice? Wellllll, the verdict is out and you, my friend, are guilty as sin.

Hey, come back! You promised you wouldn't lose it, remember?

Hell's not so bad. Sure, we get a bad rap and yes, eternal damnation wasn't too great a time, but that's gone the way of the dino. Now we have community service! The impalement rates are at an all-time low!

So buckle up, cowboy. It's going to be one hell of a ride.

One thousand years after heroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman walked the earth, a group of young heroes stepped up to to carry on their legacy: the Legion of Superheroes. Working together despite their different species and cultures, the Legion fought for justice, promoted peace and tolerance, and protected the galaxy from cosmic threats -- until disaster struck.

During a battle to save the galaxy, most of the Legion vanished, officially declared missing in action. Since then, the shadowy agents of a great evil have been causing destruction and sowing discord across the United Planets. That's where you come in.

Thanks to the mysterious being known as the Time Trapper, you were pulled to the site of the Legion's last battle. In the hopes of creating a perfect team of Legionnaires, the Time Trapper has given you brand new superpowers or your own natural superpowers have been altered.

For what purpose? Nothing short of saving all of existence.

An otherworldly terror called Chronoblivion has set Its sights on consuming the Legion's timeline. If this Conqueror Worm manages to devour the Legion's universe, It will become strong enough to end every universe, everywhere -- including yours. You're the Legion's last hope. Without you, the remaining Legionnaires have no chance of stopping Chronoblivion and Its heralds on their own.

You have no choice but to fight back -- or everything ends. It's time to take the Legion Oath and take up the call:

The game has quite a few upcoming plots over the next few months that new players may enjoy, everything from surviving televised death arenas, to perpetrating heists on corrupt political figures, to fighting Chronoblivion's Heralds, to surviving animatronics gone awry. Characters with investigation skills, unarmed combat and survival skills, or criminal skills (like grifting or stealing) will find a lot to do in our upcoming plots.

The most recent test drive (which is Jurassic Park-themed!) can be found here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Apps and reserves were closed for summer vacation for the mods, but they are now open again!

Currently 25 of 50 players slots are available in the game. The character limit is 4 characters per player.

ONCE you were living your life - good, bad, perfectly average - and the next your reality was invaded by an alien force on the hunt-- for you. Luckily, a stranger offered a way out. You accepted.

NOW there is a light above you. It casts the numerous chambers of the nesting deck in a soft broken light - including yours. There's a tube connected from the chamber to the base of your skull, but that's not what the splitting headache's from. Push past the veneer of pain. Behind it is knowing - that you're not where you once were, that there are others just like you in the neighboring chambers, and that you are not alone..

Welcome to Station 72. You’ve joined the ranks of the Nest. Nominally a peace-keeping force, the Nest is required to be strong and fit enough to counter balance forces of destruction in the multi-verse. All alien members of the Nest (that's you) are implanted with a symbiotic organism. The symbiote connects with the mind and body of its host, enabling the host body to gain superhuman abilities with which to further their cause. Over time these abilities can be strengthened by solidifying the connection between host and symbiote - but be warned: knowledge and power comes at a cost.

The closer a host is to the hivemind of the Nest, the less of an individual they become.

STATION 72 is a pan-fandom space opera RPG questioning the nature of individuality and its role in the pursuit of a greater multi-dimensional good. It focuses on team building, close interpersonal relationships, and developing shared skills. Strong themes include shared experiences, the meaning of individuality and identity, psychological transformation, and some existential horror.

APPLICATIONS are currently OPEN, with THREE slots remaining.

Illyria: a mission-based panfandom RP set in the Star Trek universe

[personal profile] statusreport 2016-08-27 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
The Ship
Maybe you were already sleeping, maybe you were in the middle of combat, maybe you were simply drinking away your sorrows, but one way or another, you found yourself unconscious. Upon waking, though, you'll find you're not at all where you last recall being. The room is pristine, all clean lines and smooth edges, white walls and strange looking panels with lit-up displays. As you come to, your head aching and your limbs tingling, you're approached by a young woman.

"Welcome to Illyria," she says with a smile. "Don't be alarmed--you're in Sick Bay. You were found in one of the cargo bays, unconscious, with a few other individuals."

You will be informed that you are onboard a starship: The Federation Starship Illyria, which is on a survey mission in the Persephone system. Or, well... it was. The Illyria encountered a strange spacial anomaly that severely damaged their systems, and the ship was pulled into a gravitational eddy. 27 hours later, 2/3 of the crew was dead, and the ship was in an entirely uncharted area of space. The transporters are malfunctioning: groups of unknown people are beamed into the cargo bays, unharmed but unconscious. That's how you got here.

Welcome to the Starship Illyria. Your mission: to integrate yourself into the remaining crew on board, join missions to explore strange new worlds, and to boldly go where no one from your canon has gone before.

Illyria is a mission-based pan-fandom roleplaying game, open to players sixteen and older, and characters of all ages, set in the Star Trek universe. Characters will be absorbed into the crew of a Starfleet vessel lost somewhere outside our galaxy. The game will focus largely on exploring new planets and encountering the races who live there; secondary themes will include survival, as the ship may have to go long stretches without places to resupply, and creating lasting, meaningful CR with your crewmates will be greatly encouraged. There will be action-based missions available every other month for those characters who are inclined to seek out excitement, and characters will be allowed to roam about the Illyria freely and conduct their own personal affairs as they see fit. This game can be as intense or slice of life as you want it to be for you, and there should be a little something for everyone! Explore planets, replicate fancy food, learn Klingon, or have an illicit affair with your subordinate officers, the stars are the limit!

WE THE LOST - A CRAU Fantasy game

[personal profile] thelostmods 2016-09-02 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)

Waking up somewhere new isn't that surprising anymore, is it?
Not when you're the Lost.
You've awakened in new worlds,
battled monsters,
staged revolutions,
and struggled to stay alive.
You've done far more than the god Zephyr knows or ever will know.

All Zephyr truly knows now is that you are in need.
They see you and know you have no home.

This is why you're here. You need a home, and Zephyr needs believers.
Can you work together to build this new world?

We the Lost is primarily a healing game, but while the characters learn and grow; so too does the god that brought them here. Each choice and interaction that your character makes affects the way that Zephyr ultimately views the world. This world is nothing without you.

Characters will encounter the child god,
Zephyr, face-to-face and help them grow into a full-fledged god. Zephyr has a name and a form, but they still have much left to figure out about themselves--with the help of the people that they bring in. There are also several other gods who occasionally look in on the Meadous and have a tendency to meddle.

Mod-run events occur roughly once a month and range from silly (e.g., a kite flying festival) to serious and dangerous (e.g., gods tampering with the negative emotions of characters).

Will your character come to accept the Meadous as their new home? Or will they try to find some means of escape? Will they take advantage of the wishing pond?
Zephyr can grant many desires: healing characters from their previous games, restoring magic and items, and much more.

This is a dressing room that has almost endless possibilities to play with in a survival horror realm, that can also be used for slice of life as well. Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Parasite Eve being the main ones. Any character is welcome, head canon is welcome, au characters are welcome, heck, anyone and everyone is welcome. if you're going to have anon mods, at least have the decency to put that information visible somewhere like idk a faq that exists to inform people of obvious things?

Re: ᴛʀɪᴀʟ 23

(Anonymous) 2016-09-05 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
... why? the game isn't open yet. 'are you guys anon' isn't a frequently asked question, (which is what faq stands for, btw). pm them if you need to talk to them. use your fucking brain. god. this is why i don't mod anymore.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-05 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
anon mods are a dealbreaker for some folks. that's something that needs to be stated upfront, a prospective player shouldn't have to ask after it or hunt for it to begin with. there's nothing entitled about wanting basic info, especially when it's so easy list to somewhere.

Thank you for your comment. It hasn't been an issue in our experience, which is why it didn't occur to us to put it in the FAQ, but we acknowledge that there are people who might have a problem with us being anon. That said, we took your comment into consideration and added it.

First, thank you for asking, and we're happy to hear that our game has caught your interest!

Secondly, yes! It just went up. We did push back the opening date because we came to realize that we might need more time to gather interest and momentum also, 23rd, it was right there, but definitely have fun in the meantime!

Re: ᴛʀɪᴀʟ 23

(Anonymous) 2016-09-06 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
hello! the game is intriguing and i'm excited to see another horror game crop up, but i am concerned about the heavy emphasis on the player-driven aspect of the game. in my experience, games that have heavy themes like horror tend to need a catalyst to keep the momentum going. while the setting and general mystery around trial 23 is intriguing, i'm worried it won't be enough to sustain the game. i notice there is encouragement to explore and do things with the setting, but without feedback from the mods, it can very quickly lead to nowhere. there's a lot of mystery surrounding the general setting and atmosphere, but no real promise (at least not from what i've seen in the FAQ) that it will get resolved in a timely manner?

essentially - i want this game to work out, but what is to keep this game from becoming a sandbox?
trial23: (Default)

[personal profile] trial23 2016-09-06 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi! Thank you very much for your interest and questions! :D We're also glad for your excitement because, well, yes, the lack of survival and/or horror games was the biggest reason for us deciding to start Trial 23 (we love that kind of stuff).

Of course, it is also in our interest to sustain the game. We can fully understand your concerns, but what we mean with player-driven is that we want to really encourage our players to share their plots and ideas with us. We will have events happening from time to time and there is a plan for some of the setting-related mysteries to be gradually revealed. So far, there isn't an "ending" decided for the game because it depends a lot on how the community evolves, which is another reason why players' input and ideas will be welcome.

This all to say that, mainly in the beginning, we will be giving people things to work with and breadcrumbs concerning the setting and the reasons why they might be there. Like everyone else, we do know that life also will happen for us and, as such, we really want players to feel like their ideas for possible plot points, developments or events will be both welcome and appreciated, and that, for bigger things, we'll be more than glad to discuss them with them and allow them to bring them to life.

In the end, we really want this game to work out too (thanks again for the encouragement)!

(Anonymous) 2016-09-07 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
thanks for the timely response, wow!

and i am incredibly glad to hear all of that. i think i might have just gotten the wrong impression from the FAQ, so it's really comforting to hear that there will be sincere attempts to help the game along. (so many new games seem to run out of steam very quickly these days, and i would hate for a neat game like this to have a similar fate!)

but this is all very encouraging, and i am even more excited for this game now! i can't wait for it. thanks a lot, mods. :)

Thank you very much again for the kind words! (And good morning!)

We edited the FAQ with your input in mind, to try and explain a bit better what we mean by "player-driven"! Hopefully it will make a little more sense now. (Here's to hoping interest picks up!)

And hehe, again, thank you! :) We hope to see you around!

(Anonymous) 2016-09-07 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
clarifying in the FAQ was a great idea, since that's where i found myself stumbling in the first place. if i could offer a few more suggestions, too, with regards to drumming up interest: have you tried creating a game plurk and getting it circulated? plurk tends to be *the* place for rp and plotting these days, and i know i've seen a number of games gain traction through having others discuss it on their plurks.
