I'd agree it wasn't a fake troll that turned out right, but I also don't think it's a big deal. yes, "she" died, but it's a show about a women's prison, women make up the majority of the cast. what we get from that comment: someone's going to die. Hell, a lot of shows would use that sort of line as a teaser in advertisement of new episodes. Someone's going to die! Better tune in to find out who. Season cliffhangers aside maybe a hit on Alex will succeed (seriously, with the threat of a criminal boss outside jail wanting her dead the show has set itself up with a plot thread that can never realistically be resolved by the characters, because it's literally a matter of public record that she's still housed at that prison https://www.justice.gov/actioncenter/locate-prison-inmate-or-sex-offender )
