some doctors believe that there is an infection process by which they are reinfected. the research is still ongoing. testing is still an extremely iffy process. i can understand the confusion surrounding the issue, especially if you're a patient who has one of the doctors who believes it is a real thing and you're still feeling very sick. i don't know one way or the other. i'm not in the medical field. i do know people personally who've suffered the lingering effects, though, still have no answers, and frankly, if i were in their shoes i'd probably jump at any legit doctor telling me they thought they could fix it.
