obesity has all kinds of strange filtered-down consequences. first is shit like taking up space. if someone has to awkwardly twist themselves on a long plane or train ride to dodge someone's fat spilling over in to their seat, it's a strain on them physically

a car carrying, say, an entire fucking family of obese people, can not stop as quickly due to the added weight. a lot of times, supermorbid obesity causes maneuverability issues with a driver. their gut is in the way, their arms are too fat to turn the wheel as much as they need to, etc

medical workers have it the worst. the number of injuries sustained by nurses trying to handle fat patients is just a god damn tragedy. back and neck injuries aren't a joke. this can also count for rescue workers

speaking of rescue workers, it's honestly dangerous for certain professionals to be obese, and it severely impacts their ability to work. fat firemen, fat cops, fat emts. if you can't even run up a flight of stairs without wheezing, can't chase down a criminal or get a decent hold on him because your gunt is in the way, lift a normal-weight person, or fit in to spaces you need to fit in to? that's a danger to the people you're supposed to be protecting. you've lost the ability to do your job

obesity can also cause problems during emergency evacuations. no one wants to be behind a fat person while they're trying to escape a dangerous situation

there have also been interesting points made about national security. obesity is even having an impact on that. we're literally getting so fat as a nation that a people are being turned away from the military because they're too fat to perform
