The participants in the study that discovered it only stopped losing weight after a month of an extreme calorie deficit while marching 20+ miles every day, and even then only after they'd alreayd lost around half their body weight. Your body is not 'hanging on' to fat in case you don't eat for a day or two.
Losing weight on a sedentary lifestyle isn't only possible, it's incredibly simple. Your argument that you can't lose weight because you never go on walks is bullshit. Anyone will tell you that diet is 90% of weight loss because even a 20 minute jog will burn less than 300 calories.
