Thank you! I kind of feel that it's a badge of pride now. It's very sad because Peanut is so wonderful with humans but he has a hard time making friends. I'm really invested in seeing a nice end for him.
I feel you on that so much, we don't have hamsters in Australia but I'm starting to research local rat and mouse rescues to help out at. We've had a LOT of sad bunny cases because people buy them for kids and don't want to invest the time.

I honestly wasn't super interested in rabbits until I started volunteering for my course and realised what kind of shit they go through. The people I've met through it are incredible as well and that makes all the difference. I'm also investing in some sturdy gardening gloves.
