You awaken to the smell of something burning and the distinct feelings of falling in the pit of your stomach. A sense of impending doom overtakes every corner of your mind.

You hear the sounds of shattering glass, the roar of tempestuous fire, and what is that smell? The low chuckle of a woman’s voice echoes in your mind. It’s haunting and eclipsing. The laugh penetrates your thoughts and latches on to your worst nightmares. Fear overrides all your senses before you are enveloped in a rush of purple smoke. The woman speaks but you cannot see her.

“You’ve made your vows, now I make mine. Everything you love, everything all of you love, will be taken from you forever. Out of your suffering will rise my victory.”

Then it all goes black.

The purple smoke rushes away to reveal the moon standing naked in the sky above you with stars stretched across boundless space. Meek and still are the Silent Mountains to all but those who can hear it's whispers, to those who hear the call.

“Beware the stories, beware the idea, beware the Devil which has no flesh.”

Welcome to Seraphina.

Set in the Land of Seraphina, characters are brought into the world by the Curse. It is unknown why at first, but the residents of Seraphina treat newcomers as the sign of prosperity to come.

From the sprawling Whispering Woods of the Silent Mountains to the shores of the Endless Sea, characters can explore the setting as they see fit but they will find it isn't as welcoming as it appears. There are beasts, monsters of the sea, and predators roaming under the light of the moon. They may seek shelter in whichever district they choose, but it becomes apparent very early on that their fates are tethered to keeping Seraphina alive. . .or so they have been led to believe.

Magic always comes with a price and it's just a matter finding what feeds this Curse to return home if they can. It may already be too late.

One thing is for sure. Many citizens of Seraphina have an unusual reverence for heroes.

The Witching Hour is a plot-driven panfandom game loosely based on Once Upon A Time and famous tales throughout history. Fairytale-lore, with a few elements of horror, will be explored through gameplay. Due to the mature content all players must be 18+.
