The only people threatening to secede are the assbackwards "TEXAS IS THE BEST STATE EVEEEEER" side of the politicians and whackjobs.

The reason the state didn't secede recently is because everyone fucking laughed at them, even our own fucking Republican as fuck government laughed at them.
