that's true about the schism and i'm still deciding whether to allow player pregnancies. it is divisive, and as much as i love pregnancy and kid plots, it may not make sense to allow people to be raising babies in a game that's already being really hardline about children by not allowing teenagers. i think the prayer thing leaves my options open on whether to allow it and gives a convenient IC reason either way. the appeal of it is that it's practical and i have a basis for how to do it without it being a cliche. maybe once the game has been open for a year, i could ask the playerbase what they prefer.
i definitely have answers to all of those questions. the players will have a lot of chances to affect the setting and what happens next, and NPC involvement will be kept as low as possible, like i said before. an adventure game isn't very fun if it can only go one way, and a journal rp is boring if it's entirely driven by NPCs. i'm just trying not to be too specific about plot details, lest i spoil my own game before it even has a name :)
