and to be fair, it's still super awkward when a well meaning white person, usually a young kid, uses nigga. usually need to have a few gentle words about how that can get their asses handed to them so don't say it out loud.

but it's really definitely not the same. when a black person calls another black person a nigger, it's to point out they're being a shitty person and enforcing stereotypes. it is completely contextually different.
