As someone who works in the inpatient psych unit at the hospital? Honestly, who cares if they're getting ass pats and cozies. That's part of their support network, that's good. It's easy to be an outsider and say "oh they just want attention/ass pats", and yeah some people may use it as a crutch, but honestly, I personally never seen it become a totally negative thing. Most of my work is trying to get the patients I see to just tell me what they are feeling and actually talk. A lot of them are so depressed that they won't say anything, they're literally stuck in their own heads.
Idk, Maybe you should try telling your friends and reaching out to more people with what you're going through. Get those ass pats and cozies. It could be more helpful, and there's nothing wrong with reaching out for comfort when you need it.
