Dear other player in my game:

Our characters have negative CR. They have negative CR because yours insisted on trolling mine over something ridiculous and not letting it go, and basically accusing them of being a liar because they used a hyperbole. If that's IC for your character, cool.

But you can't expect instant positive CR the moment my character has influence over something yours wants to be a part of.

my pet purple prose peeves:

"waves" for hair.

overuse of the following adjectives: raven, any word meaning "emitting light" (glowing, glittering, glistening, shining), any gem name used to describe a color (amethyst, onyx, ruby, emerald...)

inability to type the word "says." using every word in the thesaurus to avoid writing "says." using them inappropriately.

calling a black-haired person "the raven". naruto fanfics can be horrible about this with sasuke and itachi. they are not birds. stop.

i want to see a bunch of new onion accounts after today's episode.

only one person is known both to be this thirsty and to reply to her own shit so she can pretend she has an audience. and the fact that "someone" replied to my comment less than 10 minutes after it was made with a passive-aggressive denial has just confirmed my thoughts.

but please, raphien, keep crying to the whole world about an anonmeme that "died" more than a year ago. no amounts of childish self-replies can hide the truth you constantly deny.

Would love a Kit to play Ella against. I'd be happy with memes or a psl or the like, but I'd also love to eventually play them in a game. (I have a few I'm considering.)

i only recently was made aware of how bad it is to describe the POV character with adjectives, like:

the blonde man looked around. etc.

what i want to know is, are titles the same sort of crime? what about "the detective looked around"? is that any better or is it just as bad?

My rule of thumb: epithets are only good when they relate to the situation. You could use "the detective looked around" if he's at a crime scene or whatever, but it would be kind of silly if he's just eating lunch. Just use his name.

Of course, if the POV character doesn't know the name of the character being described, then you kind of have to use epithets. That's fine too.

it would surprise me if most rpers haven't done something like this, especially since everybody uses the internet on cellphones now

i also once heard of an rper who tagged in the shower by putting their phone in a plastic ziploc bag

Inspired by a comment up above- what do mods do when someone apps from a non-English canon with little to no English material online?

i have a hard time not using epithets and i'm going to guess it's just from rping with people who don't know any better for so long (not that that's a bad thing since i obviously do it too). it's a tough habit to break! kind of like ending sentences with adverbs. i have to remind myself not to do that
