I've never played a character that's a malleable protag before, so advice on that would be cool. Also, it's been years since I wrote a haiku, so... any thoughts when/where Zero uses them?

Lastly -- I do not care for genderwank and I'm of the personal opinion that the player decides Zero's gender, but I'm not a completionist, so if anyone has concrete info on if Zero ever personally refers to themselves as a certain gender (I know other characters call Zero male, but they also don't know if Zero is even human, so...), let me know.

F/F anon from last time here with some basic thoughts I scraped together concerning the setting and some rules for a game based on the premise I put forth in the last post. Anyway, here is the bulk of it

Setting-

-“Humans” are a single gender/sex species evolved to reproduce via parthenogenesis. There are no male humans, though gendered divisions are noted in non-human animals and other creatures. Because males have never existed in this universe, gender roles and stereotypes by and large do not exist, though other prejudices based on material wealth, nationality, and other such factors still exist.

-”Humans” literally have no concept of gender or sexuality for that matte

-Science is roughly eighty to one hundred years further along then our present. Medical technology has progressed immensely, with most diseases being curable or at least treatable, and access to said tech is nearly universal. Biotechnology has also taken precedence over computer engineering and robotics, making the current era the beginning in which bioengineered creatures, such as incredibly healthy and well built cattle, are common and hailed as the discovery of the century. Space travel is possible, though rare due to extreme costs and abandonment of research into the field by most major nations several decades ago. The resurrection of space travel would likely be a major goal in game.

-Because “Humans” are the only (sapient) monogendered species on the planet, in the past the world's religion has used this fact as the basis of the thought that the race is somehow divine in nature and above other creatures that possess two sexes. In the myth's of the worlds biggest faith, human beings were created by and modeled after a female sky deity figure who loved her creation so much as to not taint them with the same traits as the lesser beasts of the land and sea. This myth has been refuted many times over with the rise of modern science, but the faith still remains a powerful force in most of the world as the idea of human exceptional-ism is still an attractive one.

-There are only a few major powers left over the planet in the modern era, with many more having existed in the past, only to be conquered over time and assimilated into great and far reaching empires. Though no one calls these huge nations “empires” anymore, the sting of old wounds still persists with some groups trying to reestablish their native homelands as small enclaves within the bigger whole.

-The setting itself would likely be the largest city in one of these empires, a place that would offer plenty to do and access to religious, state, and scientific facilities, with those three things being the major plot threads moving forward.

-The main plot would involve a turning point of sorts near the beginning, perhaps after a month or so of SoL stuff to get people into the game and able to build up some CR without worrying about the metaplot leaving them behind. I was thinking to maybe have it be similar to the outbreak of world war 1 with a major political figure being assassinated by a lone gunman and sparking a massive outcry across the world. In the chaos we'd have our three factions (science, religion, state) vying to tame the chaos and control things moving forward. NPCs would likely offer up events related to their respective faction that could change the power balance, and direction of the plot, based on player participation. Of course most of this will be hush hush behind the scenes stuff the PCs are taking part in, rather then a huge war or something, so there will be plenty of time just to explore the city, make friends, and do all that kind of stuff between events.

--Another plot thread I'd like to explore is somehow throwing another monogender intelligent race into the mix, likely both via NPCs and PCs who app with that AU set, as a means to disrupt the status quo down the line.

-since people like shipping, and F/F is one of the draws of a game like this, small events, valentines day sort of holidays maybe?, will be provided once in awhile to facilitate building romantic CR.

-I'm also not above doing goofy events.

Characters and rules

-Concerning Genderswaps: I need more input from others on this one. Some seem very against it, while others are in favor. Anyone who has an argument either way I would love to here from.

-Concerning character age: Since the game wouldn't be entirely focused on shipping I could see child characters having a niche of sorts within the AU. But I'm worried it would be hard to accommodate characters that young (maybe 10-11 or younger) in a game based heavily around world building and intrigue.

-Details of a characters AU are up to the player and will be accepted as long as they mesh well with the setting. Tying a character to a faction will not be required at the application step, or ever really, but players who want to do so are encouraged to.

-Worldbuilding from players could be submitted for approval by the mod and would be canon if agreed upon by a certain percentage of mods and players, likely more then half.

-I want this to be a small game, so the initial character cap would be 20 or so for the first round.

Other crap
-All characters regardless of canon species must be made human as part of their AU in the first round. Later changes to the setting may allow for other species to be made playable, but for now that is up in the air.
