No, because gold healer I swear is impossible for resto shaman. you WILL go oom by the next to last wave.

Proving Grounds doesn't teach you shit anyway, and it shouldn't be a mectric. PG healer teaches absolutely nothing. I'm never dead last on HPS meters, (usually only beaten by healing classes that shit on shamans, mistweavers pallies and disc priests.) I can usualy keep up with tree druids/holy priests/other resto shamans.

I find that healing is rarely if ever the cause of wipes in Highmaul anyway. a lot of that personal responsibility is DPS or tank stuff. IIRC the only fights that are really healing intensive are Brack, Tectus, Maybe Ko'rogg due to the Shadow debuff, and well not sure on the others.

If you wipe on Kargath, the stands DPS probably didn't kill bombers. if you wipe on butcher, it's probably DPS either failed at cleave stacks or failed to make enrage, even on Brack most wipes seem to be add related rather than healing fail/infesting spores/mmushroom related. Twins is just a watch your fucking feet fight.

I don't seem a reason why you have to hold people to such high standards/have them groosly outgear the content, especially healers.

Oh don't get me wrong, I absolutely agree that Proving Grounds is an arbitrary metric especially Gold which is gimmicky as hell and not at all created equal for all classes.

Even on DPS PGs I can blow through it as a hunter but have to re-spec/re-talent/re-glyph for a turret class to get by the banana-tossers. This usually means taking talents normally meant for PvP that I would not have in an actual raid environment because they're a dps loss.

It's dumb.

But since people forming groups can see your highest achievement in the Proving Grounds your odds of being accepted to a group are quite a bit higher once you get Gold. I honestly think it should just show if you passed Silver or not since that's the benchmark Blizzard themselves wants you to pass. But it shows your highest. Once I got Gold I got accepted way more often even though I was no better a player for getting it.

I agree that the standards raid leaders on group finders have is over the top. It's unnecessarily punishing for alts, people unlucky with gear drops, people not in progression guilds (which is everyone who uses the tool regularly) and classes not well equipped for Proving Grounds. Hopefully things will change but it is what it is for now.

Hi, sorry to bother you, but I've been stalking the griping in this thread and I help run a Highmaul Normal group that is in need of a resto shaman to replace the one we had through Mists. Our other healers include a disc priest (me) and a resto druid. We raid 6-9pm PST on Wed/Thu.

We're pretty laid back (we're all 20s-30s, one of us is 40+) but we get shit done (we're 6/7 and only been doing this for maybe three to four runs?), but wasting an hour pugging random people and praying for quality is seriously killing any chances we might have of being where we used to be. Before this flex raid shit, we were normal raiders (now the new heroic???) with some heroic progression, so you can imagine we're a little frustrated that we can't even glance at mythic without a proper group.

If you're looking for a spot, please send me a PM and we can trade battletags and shit and see how it goes.

I wish you luck finding a decent group though, anon! Not everyone sucks, I promise. Come to me. Let me crush you to my blue troll bosom.

Da

What server are you all on? I only have one 90 but I'd gladly level up to join a good raiding group.

We're on Wyrmrest Accord. I'm fairly sure everything up to Mythic is cross-realm capable, but even if mythic isn't, it'll be a couple months before we touch it. (We're gearing up and learning the fights in this tier before switching to heroic, and mythic is after that, so...)

Confirming this is true, you can cross-realm normal and heroic raids.
