Men should stay out of women spaces

Yeah I'll be honest I'm kinda dissappointed that it's just a shitty "fujobait boys in magical girl outfits TOP FUCKING LEL" parody shit.

but then I'm stupid for getting excited thing we were gonna get some kinda anime magic sentai show. young males being magical heroes can be fun if it's obviously aimed at boys (armor, swords, giant magic robots) rather than solely being a shitty parody of a women space thing.

there's a pretty stark difference between male magic heroes being it's own thing done well. (Wataru, Granzort, Ryu Knight, or if you wanna go to the more adult aimed edgy side, your Ronin Warriors and your Tekkaman Blades) rather than what this is, which is kind of an insulting parody of shoujo shows.

why is it a parody? they are doing exactly the same thing shojo does. if nobody had told me they were guys and i had seen the blond and pink haired boys i wouldn't have noticed it was supposed to be anything other than we always get.

+1

From what I've seen so far, it's exactly like any magical girl anime. Just that the magical girls are boys. Do the dicks immediately turn it into a parody or ... what?

I dunno from the trailer it just seems kind of wrong and kind of......... mean spirited? Or at least kinda insensitive to put cute BL stereotype boys in a genre that's a women's space?

I was excited because I thought it was at least going to not do a shitty "magic boys in stereotypical girly outfits" thing and would at least like make it armor or something. (sorta like Saint Seiya or those magic knight things from the 90s I loved) I get that some of the characters do not look male and are kinda gender ambiguous but the premise and outfit design really rubs me the wrong way.

you realize those bl stereotypes are also in shojo but usually they are the love interest instead of the protags, right? and that those stereotypes are made FOR women? this is literally Free but with magic. they aren't invading a woman's space, they are making an anime for women.

how is it mean spirited or a parody

On one hand: I definitely think it could end up going that way.

On the other hand: all we have right now are trailers. It's way too early to call.

are you serious right now? making it like saint seiya would have been invading a woman's space since that is for boys. changing stuff because men shouldn't deal with cutesy things!!! would have been invading a woman's space. but they actually left things as they always are written in shojo. this is so much girl pandering it hurts.

Why would they need armors just because they are boys? I don't like some of the designs either (purely personal aesthetics preference as I don't like short pants), but that they aren't more "manly" is a really dumb reason to say it's mean-spirited. Why should they be? That wouldn't be following the mahou shoujo tropes at all and it'd be an entirely different type of series. I actually think it's awesome. I've been waiting for an anime like this for decades.

But, you know, I'll be mean-spirited now: Found the radfem.

i like how you're trying to come off tumblr and pc here but just wind up being really really offensive

guys can be in girly outfits without it inherently being a parody or mean-spirited, jesus christ

Sorry2say, the idea that boys need armor and girls don't is pretty sexist.
