WORLD-BUILDING GAME BASED OFF OF MAKAI KINGDOM
Anyway, the gist of the story is pretty simple. The universe is going out of whack thanks to a major force consuming Netherworlds, Demons, and Overlords alike. Pram the Oracle has foreseen (or "foreseen") this and thus calls in all the powerful Overlords from the game
and King Drake the IIIin order to figure out the best course of action to fight this force. In order to have a fighting chance, they use the powers of the Sacred Tome to bring in other beings from varies worlds to their world. Their powers are most likely weakened to begin with (if they had any) while those with no powers game some. Every character is then given a small Netherworld build specifically for them (which would be designed by the player via descriptions). From there they would have to fight off rouge enemy versions of various classes from NIS games (and possible other canons as well), either by themselves or by classes that they were able to create and then "Invite" like the actual canon. As the player characters defeat more enemies, they'd become more powerful, as would their armies, thus allowing them to create better classes while expanding their Netherworld. There'd also be the option to fight other Overlords and conquer their Netherworlds. I'd also like to inpute some type of Dark Senate like from the Disgaea games, so characters in the game, not in the game but played by people in it, and outsides could play as NPCs to pass or fail certain IC bills, but I'm not sure how well this could work.
All in all, I've been hoping for a fun little world building game with an action-oriented premise that isn't so serious. Potential for comedy and fun in spades, but with a clear goal in mind and lots to do. If you have any ideas or thoughts, I'd love to hear them! And if you'd be interested in modding, I would love to hear you out. Especially if you're good with coding, as I'm terrible with it and would need some help getting up to snuff.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-24 06:10 am (UTC)(link)cdc succeeds not because it's super great and original, but because of the people behind it. that's the making or breaking of any game, and that's why disgaeaish games don't do well: the crowd they attract can't run them worth shit.
OP
I can totally see why a game like this would be a tall order, as theirs numerous things to keep in check. Even if players set up the Netherworld, there'd have to be limits on how strong characters and their classes could get during a certain period of time, among other things, and said things would have to be enforced. Still, I think it has the potential for being fun. I myself would probably just stick to modding it over apping, with the exception of playing an NPC or two. Though like I said when this first came up, I wouldn't want the NPCs to get too involved. Otherwise it would limit the options of characters' plans as well as might tempt people to spend a majority of their time trying to get CR with them.
But anyway, I'm admittedly curious as to how to recruit mods. Is there any place where you can hold some kind of advertisement for modding help? Also, what questions should I ask in regards to the interviews and what not, aside from the obvious ones about "experience" and "why they think they'd be a good mod"?
