ok let's be real though. we've discussed joseph oda and seb's sexuality but how come we haven't discussed ruvik's much? i think he's possibly the most sexual being in the game. many people do not think so because he is evil and traumatized but just because you don't cater to vanilla sex doesn't mean you're not a sexual being. i think ruvik, were he born in a different family and in a different time, would probably be into the bdsm social circle. i think if he explored the more underground aspects of it, he would find himself incredibly sexual and maybe even gay (or bisexual/queer). he mainly torments men (see sebastian and joseph and all the male enemies). i know many people interpret his character as having repressed sexual feelings for laura but that's ridiculous. he loved laura because she was his sister and he wanted to keep her alive because he missed her! NOT because he wanted to have sex with her.

anyway! just putting this here to have a solid discussion about ruvik's sexuality!

I agree so much. Like seriously if you somehow didn't notice this? Kiss your fucking gamer credibility goodbye. Take it to the nearest paper shredder and obliterate it because you're too new at video games to understand the subtle nuances of Ruvik's sexual fluidity.

Here's some clues, since I apparently have to spell it out for all the scrublords here:

- Ruvik only tortures Seb and Joseph, NEVER JULI or any female characters. Why? Does he have secret desires for them? WOW, REALLY SUBTLE, MIKAMI!

- Ruvik tells Sebastian that he's "his to do with as he pleases". Oh really now. I wonder what THAT entails. Psych, he's clearly after Sebastian's fatherly love, being so repressed and having daddy issues and all.

- Ruvik picks on Sebastian like a bully at recess would do with their crush. It's so obvious. I mean really, if you were Ruvik, the mastermind of a nightmarish dimension, what would YOU do in that situation?

- Ruvik walks like a woman.

I could wax poetic about all the other clues but that's all you'll get from me for now, casuals!

I don't even play video games and therefore don't know the canon, but this thread and the thread from the last post are both absolutely disgusting, and I'm really starting to get pissed off at the rampant 4chan homophobia for lulz nonsense. It's not okay when someone does it logged in on plurk, and it's not okay here on anon. At this point, I'm ready to avoid people who RP from this game all together. I seriously hope I'm not in a game with any of you, because this is some gross shit right here.

i even liked the game. not enough to want to rp from it, but enough to want to rp with people who did. but wow these past two posts have been a real eye-opener as to gross the dwrp community can be, and for no good reason, either. while it's not enough to make me ask people in the fandom to stop tagging me, it's enough to make me not want to go out of my way to tag them.

Thanks for speaking up, anon, but I hope you don't think badly of the entire fandom just because of a few dedicated trolls. A lot of us actually want to have a conversation about the game, but we kept getting steamrolled and talked over by this group of people who are really goddamn mad about their gamer street cred being called into question by some random tittybaby who was pretty obviously a troll. We've just been sort of intimidated into silence and battering down the hatches until people get tired and give up. We moved the conversation to wankgate briefly, and it was pretty great actually, but it seems to have stalled.

To be honest, I doubt most of the people in these threads are actually an active part of the fandom. I'm having a hard time believing that people who were into the game enough to want to write/draw/RP from it would be so adamant about shutting down all avenues of discussion on a really goddamn open-ended game and trying to bully people out of the fandom. I'm pretty fucking pissed about that username suggestion thread for that prospective Joseph player, too.

If you get trolled for this, I'm sure I will too, but shit. Fucking goddamn shit. I don't give a shit how mad you are about shipping or how sensitive your fee-fees are about being called a fake gamer or whatever. As someone who was around for the first explosion of stupidity I am pretty sure all of these comments are making fun of that asshole who claimed that whoever didn't see Sebastian as bi was just a video game noob and a homophobe. I've come to accept it as a reality of modern video gaming. It's the rule, not the exception.

I don't like it, but it's not like it's going to change any time soon. Not when there's so much money to be made. The worst part is that I liked the game enough to have already bought a season pass. I am also part of the problem. This is the worst vicious cycle to be caught in.

not intending to start up another fight, but yeah, echoing that it would still exist. there's enough weight to it and evidence in canon for it to carry over no matter what. i already had it in my head before the original theory anon made their first post about it, but they're the one who put it into clearer terms for me.

not that i'm saying it's canon or even intended canon. just that it's not something that was pulled out of thin air to justify the buttsex rp.

you're not alone, especially since all of the "evidence" for sebastian liking joseph could be used for juli too. and the fact that joseph is said by sebastian to probably have a crush on her, even.

i'm sick of being called a homophobe because i don't agree that sebastian canonly has feelings for joseph, and that i call out the juli thing. she is completely ignored by the fandom. by that logic, if i'm homophobic, then you guys are sexist.
