Who does everyone like!?

So I'm considering apping here sometime in the near future. However, I've heard rumors that the game will be entering endgame/closing at some point in the next year. Any truth to that? I'd really rather not app to a game and have it close in short order.

hey longtime player here, let me clarify:

the rumors to endgame/closing in a year come from a comment blue (head mod) made after the end of last year's anniversary event (haven's first one) where she said she had two years worth of plot planned. a lot of people have taken that to mean haven will be closing in late 2015. keep in mind she made this comment in september 2013 and the game has changed a lot in the past year alone. the direction of the plot is fluid and can change depending on a number of factors. for example - the end of this anniversary death was capped off with the permanent death of a major NPC, which was not planned to happen but occurred due to the actions of player characters cutting off the power to the revival system toward the end of the event.

that being said if there was an endgame planned anytime soon, i trust blue would inform people of it well ahead of time since she's pretty good about keeping people informed with major changes. she said she has multiple endgames in mind depending on how the plot progresses, since characters have major avenues to change the setting depending on their actions/the timing of their actions.

so the not tl;dr answer to your question is a big "maybe." There's no guarantee the game will close in late 2015 or that it will stay open and the only one who can answer that is the mod. However, imo, you really have nothing to worry about if you plan to app in relatively soon.

I'd like to add to the above that I'm a relatively new player, but even if the game closes exactly at the time she planned in late 2013, Haven seems like a game where you can get an awful lot done and build a lot of great CR and plot in a year. I've been in for only a cycle or so and I've already had many opportunities with other players and there's lots of potential to springboard. It's one of the most accessible games I've been in for a really long time.

If you're considering it, I feel like it's definitely worth a try.

Also new, and I got more done in a month here than I did in other games by far.
