you really ought to not assume things then tbh. judging from my other game my average for tags is 15-20 per month, but i don't want to have to feel like i'm struggling to make AC every month, either. a lower AC relieves some of that stress.

the only reason why i made that a top priority was because i asked for game recs on my plurk, and everyone came back with ACs that were around 25ish comments per month, and that's just a little too much for me. i know for a fact that there are slower games out there, because i'm in one of them, but i wanted a second game.

maybe phrase things a bit more differently? i only jumped in because you got overly defensive about someone pointing out that ac isn't really the thing you have to worry about. all you had to say was 'low ac', not 'under 10 comments', because not a lot of games have under 10 comments. some have ten network OR five log comments, but that might not fit your bill because oops, ten. under ten comments is beyond slow for any game and most of the ones i've been in have had 25 or less.

you're being awfully pedantic about these numbers. i honestly didn't even think it was that big of a deal and i just pulled a number out of my ass because my other game is 7 log comments or 15 network. 10 was a ballpark.

you're writing words on a text-based site. how else are we supposed to take what you're writing other than literally? you asked for a specific number. you were informed that that number is pretty fucking ridiculously low, and even in your 'other game that has things lower', you still have a 15 comment minimum for network tags. asking for things lower than 10 is not just ballparking. it's asking for an ac that doesn't really exist around here. no one's going to suggest a game with 5 logs if it has 10 network because 'it's not technically under 10'. try being less ballparky and more actual in what you want. no one here is psychic.

this is a really disproportionately angry response for something that's pretty benign, anon. i've seen plenty of people on ATP proper respond to character ads with "this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it follows most of your criteria" and more often than not, people still actually look at the games.

i'm absolutely baffled by the idea that someone would look at my comment and think to themselves "oh no they said LESS than 10 so i specifically cannot under any circumstances recommend something that's AT 10."

like, come on, seriously? i never asked for people to be psychic. there's something called commonality of language. but i guess next time i'll be 100% explicit in every single little detail i'm looking for and even then go out of my way to write a disclaimer that i'm also slightly flexible about things. christ.

i think you need to take a step back if you think my response is angry. i'm merely pointing out that you're asking for something in a pretty non-helpful way. you want a game that's less than ten, but hey, maybe we can offer ten or fifteen because we can totally read between the lines. you also don't give a shit about the premise, but don't make it be too shitty because premise actually matters.

articulate a little better when you're requesting something.

and yeah, write a fucking disclaimer that says you're flexible. 'I'm looking for a game with low ac, around >10, but I'll take something a bit higher if it's in the same ballpark'. then people actually know what to recommend.

it was more in response to the 'i just came out to get some recs and i'm feeling so attacked right now' response that i found overly defensive. i feel so jumped on right now? no one was jumping on them. they were just pointing out that hey, your phrasing sucked and what you're asking for is kind of low enough that you should just stick to museboxes instead of a game if you can't commit to anything larger than 10 comments a month
