Read the game info! Read ALL the game info. Hit up the newbie intro log, and tag out in it - don't just post a parent comment. Observe characters you think would mesh well with yours and pursue them. Use the CR meme, tag around on it and don't just comment, and follow through. I admit that especially when I first intro'd, it helped that I knew people in the game - it helped a lot. But it's not impossible to come in otherwise and do well and get lots of CR. There's no guarantees, but this will get you off to as good a start as anything. The CR meme is timed now to where all new players will get to hit it up right away too, I believe.
