See I hadn't read too much of Winick in the past, but what I had read of his I liked (I can only really remember reading his run on Green Arrow and Under the Red Hood... or is it just Under the Hood? I always mix the two up. Anyway those are the two I can remember off the top of my head), and I'm really glad Batwing came out first, because I sure as hell wouldn't have given it a chance if Catwoman had come out first.

It just boggles my mind to see how much care Oliver and Winick put into creating the Batwing stories to be authentic and not fall into the pitfalls of just sticking him in a giant safari and having the side characters all be inexplicably white like writers/artists have tend to do in the past...and then you see Catwoman.

My only complaint about Batwing is I wish it wasn't a bat title, honestly. Winick's sort of been heavily relying on his relationship with Batman, to the point where I don't think Bruce is ever in Gotham City anymore because he's in Africa every other day. I mean, I love the bat family but let David develop as his own person and stop using Batman as a crutch.
