To both you and the anon above: actually, my character is one of the usual badasses who doesn't even break a sweat dealing with monsters. That's one of the reasons I'm bored of generic monster attack plots. If there was something else happening while the monster attacks are going on, like a mindfuck or everyone's weapons disappearing temporarily or just generally anything that hinders badassery, I think that would be much more interesting.
