I'm very well off. my family had very little money when I was growing up (my dad was in school and my mom's income was very low, we got lots of outside help from family), but it's changed since I was a kid. My family is well off enough that I can go to school full-time without taking out any loans, and while I have worked and paid taxes, I've never been dependent on my own income to survive.

continued financial help from them is contingent on my keeping my scholarship and making my own spending money. but for life in general I don't have to worry at all, and I know how lucky I am.
