OC-Only Pokémon Gijinka PMD Game

There was some mild interest in this last meme so okay, let's see what I can do.

I have a decent amount of contemplating going on in this mod journal for anyone who would like to look through the posts (and everything in them is up for discussion and altering), but the gist of it is this: The game will be OC Pokémon gijinkas set in a Mystery Dungeon kind of universe, since that was the most popular option. It will be primarily slice-of-life where, of course, "life" constitutes being a mercenary or a criminal able to shoot lightning out of your face or cough fire or whatever it is that you do. Primarily, characters can be members of the explorer guild or rogue guild, but players aren't limited to that. Characters can be applied as freelance explorers or rogues, merchants, postal workers, business owners, or basically whatever else players want to think up—if it doesn't exist, it can be proposed. The setting is going to depend heavily on player actions and they will have potential and be heavily encouraged to make changes and run plots.

Some primary issues at hand:
  • Mods. I'll admit straight up that I've never modded a game on Dreamwidth before, but I have helped with a few forum RPs here and ran one on my own, so I at least have an idea of what's needed. If there's anyone willing to volunteer to help me mod this, let me know!
  • Treasure/money systems. I put my own half-decent musings up here, but I can't think of a good way to give treasure/exploration expeditions "value" in a way that isn't annoying to a playerbase. Any thoughts on this would be great to have and hash out!
  • On that note, this credit system is still a very vague idea but I'm also not sure how a playerbase would feel about it. Again, any input would be great!
  • Moves and abilities and how to handle them. Putting a level system in place would be too complicated, naturally, but that does put into question how moves should be handled. I put up some potential options here. Thoughts about those or further suggestions would be great.

Like I said, I have some thoughts posted up in this journal, and comments/input on anything there (or anything not there) would be very much appreciated!
