Who would be interested in a game with a similar premise to Digital Devil Saga?
Players would be in "tribes" (teams) that regularly fight each other for territory in the "Junkyard". Whenever one tribe wins over another, the losing tribe's remaining members get assimilated into the winning tribe, bolstering that tribe's numbers. When only one tribe remains, that tribe gets to leave the Junkyard and go home.
The twist comes in the fact that everyone has a "demon" side that they can transform into, and sometimes lose control of, but to satisfy this demon, they must devour others (this can be either those fallen on the field of battle or otherwise). The longer one goes without eating, the more likely the demon is to go out of control.
Death clearly wouldn't be permanent, since there would inevitably be a lot of it.
There would be a common ground (Karma Temple) with a rule of nonaggression that can be used for general CR and as a general safehouse.
Standard communicator thing applies.
Obviously still needs tweaking, but who would be interested in helping out?
