just play the character as herself. if she's cute and endearing in her habits and mannerisms, then you're writing cute by being ic.

and just to add: there is never a need to point out something is or should be considered cute. this is the fastest way to make it not cute. don't to things to be cute, do things to be the character and you should be good.
