FULL DISCLOSURE: I wanted to use Risa, as a reference to the pleasure planet from Star Trek. The username 'risa' was taken, but 'risan' was not. So I was all like, okay, we can call the inhabitants of the island Risans. And then my co-mod was like oh but the N could be from iNstitute, and it could be a dumb scientist joke when they call their test subjects 'Risans'.
