Sure I can screen comments, but that wouldn't be helpful to people seeking suggestions since they wouldn't be able to see them. Any other method that would require me to routinely screen and unscreen comments would be complicated and just as prone to sniping.

Anon's suggestion is really your best bet and it's fairly simple as it is. In this case it's going to be up to the poster to decide whether or not they want to safeguard themselves.
