[D] Sweeping the clouds away

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. Please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Concerns?

EXIT VOID

[personal profile] voidnpcs 2012-10-10 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Something metallic invades your senses in both taste and smell. It's almost as sharp and biting as the cold mist cutting at your skin, waking every nerve it can touch. The rusted metal beneath your cheek groans as the surface dips and rises in unending motion.

Wherever you were before is gone now, as distant as any hope of escape.
Welcome to Exit Void, a panfandom survival horror game set on a cargo ship at sea. From time to time the ship will dock and allow its passengers to visit new canon locations. The stay is never long enough, so avoid the hostiles, grab any new cargo, and make it back before the ship leaves. Ghosts await you when you return. Some wish to help, others want what you have, and others just want to watch you suffer.

City of Ariel: panfandom sex game

[personal profile] arielmods 2012-10-10 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Your first awareness that something has gone wrong comes during a groggy moment of semi-lucidity when you look around yourself and find that -- instead of wherever you remember being last -- you're in a chair, in a room with a man you don't recognize. He's sitting behind a desk whistling to himself and sorting paperwork. The whole atmosphere might remind you of a high school guidance counselor's office, only with far more comfortable chairs.

When your head clears enough to speak and you ask him where you are, he smiles brightly and says, "Welcome to the City of Ariel."

◆ ◆ ◆

The City of Ariel is a pan-fandom, dystopian sex game set on the ruins of a world fairly similar to Earth in its climates and geography. The similarities end there, however.

What outwardly appears to be an idyllic utopia is actually a terrifying reality. Pleasure is a tool used to keep the population sedate and compliant. It is subtly enforced by various brainwashing methods and constant stimulation.

There is a subset of the population who have no love for the way the powers that be are controlling the people. There are rumors of rebellious groups living far outside the city walls in hidden encampments. Those elements of society are hard to find, however, and asking around for them won't do you any favors. They do occasionally stage raids on the outer parts of the city, taking some of the less well indoctrinated. So, you can always hope to be in the wrong place at the right time.

Sex is a requirement for this game. Smut threads are not only part of the AC, they are the AC. Players who apply to this game should be aware of the following:

◆ There will be kink. Hopefully, there will be lots and lots of freaky kink. The sort that you just don't see played out in most other places. The freakier the better. This is your warning.

◆ Triggery things will be permitted. Under-aged sex, non-con, dub-con, bestiality, guro... you name it. If you don't want to deal with that, this isn't the place for you. This is your other warning.

◆ There will be no kink shaming. Period. We don't care how repellent you find a kink, act, or thread to be, we don't want to hear about it. This is what you signed up for. So long as triggers are properly warned for and put behind cuts, they're fine.

◆ Fade-to-black does not exist here. Neither does handwaving.

◆ Creepy, harassing behavior will not be tolerated. After the first, documented instance of creeping, you will receive one warning. Your second warning will be removal from the game.

If this sounds like your cup of tea then come on in and join us!

( the xavier institute )
"Mutatis Mutandis: By changing those things which need to be changed..."
This is the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning. You are here because you are different. Gifted. A mutant. The Institute is a pan-fandom, plot driven, alternate universe (AU) role playing game set in the world of Marvel's X-Men. Players fill the roles of students, faculty members and adjunct staff members, all of whom work together to keep the Xavier Institute active and running. Alongside school life drama, your characters will have to endure the harsh world of X-Men, where humans and mutants draw near the brink of war with each passing day. When you're stuck in the middle, will you hold your ground or take a side?

YOU ARE DROWNING. Those on land had said it was a bad idea—the language might have been alien, but the fear on their faces spoke tales no words could tell.

It's called The Devil's Sea. It earned that name for a reason! They say that strange things have happened to those who braved its waters, but only one thing is certain… All who have set sail have yet to return.

But for some reason, despite their warnings of tropical typhoons, monsoon rains, and the perils of the deep, you went forth, tossing and turning in your little boat.

You are drowning.

The waters close in on your lungs. The sea is cold, unfeeling, unmerciful. You're sinking…sinking…falling…

When you come to your senses, you're stranded against a cold bank of sand and seaweed—coughing, shivering—mercifully alive. In the near distance, there is a little town. You struggle to your feet and make your way to the wooden huts, to the yellow electric lights. There are other people like you here—those who had set sail but had yet to return. Your mind is buzzing with questions. How did you escape the sea? Why didn't you drown?

But as night falls, you can feel them watching you, and you discover this—drowning would have been the better option.

Welcome to THE DEVILS SEE, a survival horror game inspired by Asian folklore, old wives' tales, superstitions, and urban legends.

RYAN'S GULCH

[personal profile] upset 2012-10-10 06:34 am (UTC)(link)

ALL GOOD THINGS OF THIS EARTH
flow into the city.

You’ve been hand-selected by Andrew Ryan’s top vetting teams to take part in a grand social experiment, perhaps the salvation of modern mankind as we know it — but to accept his invitation is to take a leap of faith and great personal sacrifice. Will you continue to suffer the slings and arrows of lesser-minded men who seek to undermine your labor and take all you’ve earned, or will you escape the surface for a second chance beneath the waves, a new opportunity in the underwater city of Rapture?

OR . . .
they dredge up on the shore.

The boys in the labs at Fontaine Futuristics have really cooked up a doozy this time. They say this Teleport plasmid could end the need for bulky modes of transport, letting you zip from one side of the city to another, but what if you weren’t even trying to get into the city at all? It was just an accident, sure, but like it or not, you’re here in Rapture and you’re here to stay. Don’t try to contact the surface and don’t do anything else Mr. Ryan doesn’t like, and maybe you’ll make it here okay.

WELCOME TO RAPTURE.

RYAN’S GULCH is a panfandom game based on the BioShock series, open to fandom characters, original characters, canon and fanmade AU characters, and porting of previous RP experience and CR. Set in the years prior to the events of the first BioShock game, this game will progress through the events leading to Rapture’s downfall and place player characters directly in the middle of the Rapture Civil War. enterthegame - A video game-themed dressing room

[personal profile] princessofvideoland 2012-10-10 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Enter the Game!

enterthegame is a video game crossover dressing room inspired by Super Smash Bros., Captain N, and the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph. All characters who have ever appeared in a video game are welcome to come in and join the fun!

The game isn't limited to video game only characters, as long as they're from a canon that has at least one video game character in it, they're allowed to come and play. They have to follow the rules of the game that inspired their canon, though.

The main area of the dressing room is a city that has just about anything your character would want, they just have to find it! There's also a station that allows characters to warp to any video game world that they desire. The characters are allowed to stay or travel as much as they want to other worlds.

Come on in and join the fun! We'd be glad to have you!

Out flew the web and floated wide; the mirror cracked from side to side—

LINKS

The last thing you knew, you were going about your business as usual - or perhaps you weren't; either way, it was still the life you knew. The one you were used to, that probably didn't involve waking up on hard concrete with the smell of urban decay filling your world.

The city has clearly been abandoned for a few years; yet, as you step into the street, you can hear something moving between the crumbling buildings, threading its way through the rubble.

You are not alone. You are not safe.

Welcome to Montauk-1 Allende-18, a panfandom, plot- and exploration-driven survival horror game set in the abandoned remains of 1978 Seattle, Washington. Something about this city, in this time, in this world, has turned it into a sinkhole in multiversal spacetime; any being that falls through a tenuous patch in their own reality is likely to end up here, and that doesn't just mean sapient, relatively humanlike entities from worlds with internally consistent physical laws. The bottom fell out of the non-Euclidean planes of reality first, flooding the city with improbable, hostile entities that have only thrived here - and whose descendants would rather eat you than each other.

The city is surrounded by an impassable barrier, keeping both the monsters and you in - though, that may be pure coincidence, as there seems to be nothing left of the world beyond it, either. Any broadcasts that might be picked up by what little electronic equipment still functions in the city could well be from a different universe entirely, as there's dead air on even the NORAD frequencies. However, there are two distinct cohorts of human-seeming entities within the city, whose presence and appearance might provide some clues to what happened here before characters began arriving.

One group wears gas masks, jumpsuits, Cold War military surplus, decorated with strange symbols; the weapons they carry are largely improvised. The other group - better equipped, always eerily silent - favors black BDUs, SWAT-style helmets with mirrored visors that make it impossible to see their faces (if, indeed, they have them) and American assault rifles - usually, the M16, but a few of them carry M14s. Both groups are hostile.

You are not alone. Nowhere is safe. All you can do is keep moving.

GLAXCIN PRISON

[personal profile] glaxcinmods 2012-10-11 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
INTRODUCTION
You are all guilty.
You will all pay the price.

[community profile] glaxcinprison. It is a place of nearly endless possibilities, strange surprises but, ultimately, a single and well-maintained order - the will of the Warden. Unseen, he commands and plays with the lives he captures, for purposes which he does not voice. There is only one certainty: in his eyes, every single one of them is a criminal. Every single one belongs here.

The Prison is a warren of hallways and rooms. The walls and floor seem to be made out of some sort of volcanic rock, of a dark, charcoal grey colour. The floors are slick and smooth as glass, and sometimes the walls are unblemished, while other times they are rough and broken, raw rock. Doorways are sometimes hidden, invisible in the rock, viewable only when they have been opened; others are simply open and shut with walls of fire that, if the Warden is in a kind mood, give off no heat but burn when touched. The atmosphere is forbidding, menacing, and demanding.

Anyone who finds themselves here will be victim to the same circumstances as everyone else. A four bed dorm. A standardized uniform. A daily schedule that, without notice, will explode into chaos, and prisoners find themselves in different worlds, different places in time. Everything seems to be controlled invisibly - beds turned down, items appearing where previously there was nothing. And always, always a test. That is what life is here.

Glaxcin Prison is filled with all sorts of delights. The Warden invites you to enjoy them.

SUMMARY

Glaxcin Prison is a Multiverse game. Characters from any and all fandoms are allowed, subject to the moderators’ ruling. We like to have fun. We also like to set things on fire make life interesting for the characters. Applications are currently open, so what are you waiting for?

WONDERFUL WORLDS | APPS OPEN!

[personal profile] wonderful_mods 2012-10-12 06:08 am (UTC)(link)

Wonderful Worlds is a panfandom roleplay game based on an inter-dimensional version of The Reaper's Game from The World Ends With You. Characters are mysteriously transported from their home to a new place, which changes with each IC week - depending on when they enter, they may find themselves in an everyday city on Earth, or in an exciting and dangerous alternate dimension, or maybe even in the world of another canon. For the living, that's the sum of it. Just enjoy the moment!

For the dead, however, there awaits the "Underground", and a choice:
Will they become a Player in the Reaper's Game,
with the chance to be restored to life?
Or will they join the Reapers, with the chance to ascend to a higher state of being?

THE GAMES-A pan fandom Hunger games rp

[personal profile] gamemakers 2012-10-13 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
WELCOME TO PANEM

Katniss Everdeen's spark has set the world of Panem on fire, and the Capitol has been scrambling to beat down the flames ever since. President Snow is presented with two options if he's not to lose everything: Crush the rebellions with force, or pacify their anger. And when you have been murdering people's children for almost 75 years, that is no small task.

However, the Hunger Games cannot just end. The Capitol expects them, thrives off them, and although Snow is willing to pacify the Districts, he won't be seen as weak. He refuses to let them to forget what is waiting for them if they ever make one misstep, and now, it will be on their minds every day.

Behind closed doors, he has the best minds of Panem scrambling. Buried deep in one of the mountains of District 2, a technology of the old people was found. Those in the past had never been able to find the last piece of the puzzle between what they knew and what they thought they knew, but Snow's people can.

And have.

Now they can pull Tributes from all worlds, all realities, and all times. Unlimited Tributes, and not a drop of Panem's blood will be shed to fuel the rebellion's power. And the Capitol's power, its force, can be broadcast all day, every day.

Now the Hunger Games never have to stop.

Let the 75th Hunger Games begin!

And may the odds be ever in your favor.

ABOUT THE GAMES

The Games is an action packed, panfandom RP based off Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trillogy, where, instead of citizens of the 12 Districts of Panem playing in the Arena(s) as tributes, characters from other fandoms are reaped in their stead.

LEGACY OF ZENDERAEL - original character game

[personal profile] zenderael_mods 2012-10-17 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)

Legacy of Zenderael has outsold any other MMORPG for years. Its popularity has outstripped the classic World of Warcraft, and emboldened its developer, XDAV, who is rolling in the dough. The year is 2050, and you’re one of the millions of people playing on the free-to-play phenomena that has swept America.

You live in the Pacific Northwest in Fall City or its suburb, Underwood, and you’ve carved a hole or are just carving one on the Everea server during Zenderael’s fifth expansion.

But things are not as they seem. People are disappearing. Assets from the game are showing up in suburban front yards. And through it all, XDAV remains remarkably tight-lipped...
